Iain Macdonald is a dedicated environmental scientist specializing in GHG emissions, marine issues, and carbon capture and storage (CCS). Currently, they lead the OGCI CCUS Workstream and serve as a Principal Advisor for Carbon Technical Advocacy at Shell, focusing on corporate carbon strategies. Previously, Iain managed the largest industrial-academic collaboration on CCS valued at $70 million and has over five years of industrial experience with a leading LNG company. They hold a PhD in Marine Sciences from The Manchester Metropolitan University and have contributed to various initiatives, including the European Commission Expert Group on Carbon Removals.
