John Millson

John Millson is an experienced geoscientist currently serving as the Americas Exploration Geosciences Discipline Lead and External Liaison Coordinator at Shell USA since April 2014, managing staff capabilities and coordinating technical liaison efforts. Prior to this role, John held various positions at Shell Canada from June 2008 to April 2014, including Team Lead for Exploration Optimization and Principal Regional Geologist, where expertise was directed towards maximizing land value and improving regional play analysis. John's earlier career included significant contributions as a Technical/Value Assurance Advisor and Senior Exploration Geologist at Petroleum Development Oman, focusing on conventional and unconventional gas evaluations. John earned a PhD in Geoscience from Aberystwyth University, with a thesis on sedimentology and stratigraphy, and a 1st BSc Honours in Economic Geology from Aston University, emphasizing sedimentary systems and their influence on mineral deposits.
