Joseph Kato

Joseph Kato is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in geology and military operations. Currently serving as an Exploration Geologist and Operations Geologist at Shell since August 2013, Joseph focuses on prospect identification and maturation in the Gulf of Mexico, utilizing 3D seismic interpretation and knowledge of structural geology. In addition, Joseph has served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force Reserve since June 2013, conducting weather reconnaissance missions with the WC-130J Hercules. Previous roles include Senior Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University, where Joseph developed curricula in Naval Science and Naval History, and various positions in the US Navy, including Weapon Systems Officer and Electronic Countermeasures Officer. Joseph holds a Master of Science in Geoscience from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy.
