Lambertus Cornelius

Lambertus Cornelius currently serves as the Global Head of Operational Risk for Crude Trading at Shell, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this, Lambertus worked at HSBC as the Director of Change Management, where responsibilities included leading unauthorized trading reviews and risk assessments across the Markets business. Lambertus also gained significant experience at ICBC Standard Bank Plc as the Director and Chief Controls Officer for Global Markets, focusing on establishing a robust first line of defense. Additional roles included Senior Vice President at NatWest Markets Plc, where Lambertus successfully outsourced the CSA function, and Director at UBS Investment Bank, handling operational risk duties within the Equities COO team. Lambertus holds an MBA in Outsourcing/Change Management from The University of Edinburgh and a B.Compt (Hon) in Accounting from the University of South Africa.
