Laszlo Varro is a seasoned professional in the energy and economics sectors with extensive experience in high-level strategic roles. Currently serving as VP Global Business Environment at Shell since July 2021, Laszlo leads macroeconomic, energy scenario, and climate policy analyses to facilitate the company's adaptation to an accelerated energy transition. Previously, Laszlo held multiple prominent positions at the International Energy Agency from 2011 to 2021, including Chief Economist and Head of Gas, Coal, and Electricity Markets, where responsibilities encompassed strategic energy system support and market analysis. Additional experience includes roles as Director for Strategy Development and Chief Economist at MOL, Director for Price and Economic Analysis at the Hungarian Energy Office, and Economist at the National Bank of Hungary. Laszlo holds an MS in Economics from Corvinus University of Budapest and furthered studies at the University of Cambridge.
