Leonardo Spanu is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in nuclear energy, research, and technology management. Currently serving as the Manager of the Nuclear Small Modular Reactors Integration Program at Shell since July 2012, Leonardo leads initiatives aimed at deploying nuclear solutions to support decarbonization and develop low-carbon product value chains. Previous roles include Principal Scientist focusing on Negative Emission Materials and life cycle assessment framework development, and Senior Researcher managing various energy technology programs. Leonardo's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from Università di Pavia and a Master's degree from Università di Pisa, along with notable postdoctoral research positions in significant scientific institutions.
