Mallika Ishwaran is the Chief Economist at Shell, a position held since June 2013, following experiences as a Senior Economist and Policy Advisor for the UK government from 2005 to 2013. During tenure at the UK government, Mallika Ishwaran served in multiple roles, including Deputy Director responsible for evidence and analysis across various environmental portfolios and acting Chief Economist. Earlier experience includes serving as a Regulatory Economist for the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget and a Macroeconomic Consultant at the Jerome Levy Forecasting Center. Mallika Ishwaran earned a PhD and a Master’s degree in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi.
