Marc van Veen is a pragmatic data professional with extensive experience in data governance and management. They currently lead the Environmental Insights Programme at Shell, after serving as a Principal Data Engineer and a consultant in data governance. Prior to Shell, Marc developed data governance structures for over forty business units at HEINEKEN International and implemented critical regulations for Mizuho Bank Europe. They earned an Executive MBA in Big Data and Business Analytics from the University of Amsterdam in 2021. Marc has also contributed to political strategy and engagement through roles with the Dutch political party PvdA.
