Mark Garner is an accomplished professional in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management with extensive experience in incident investigation and competency assurance. As the HSE Incident Investigation & Competency Division Head at Basrah Gas Company from July 2016 to October 2018, Mark managed a team focused on competency development and HSE systems for a joint venture with 23 facilities in Iraq. Previous roles include serving as Environmental Advisor & Project Manager at the Environment Agency and various HSE positions at Shell, including FLBM Assessor and AI-PSM Implementation Lead, contributing to safety fundamentals across operations in South Africa. Mark is also a part-time NEBOSH examiner for the Oil & Gas Operational Safety course. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Leeds, a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Safety and Accident Investigation at Cranfield University.
