Previously, they held various roles at Powerlink Queensland, including Substation Site Supervisor, where they oversaw high voltage substations and coordinated contractor management. Earlier in their career, Matthew worked as an Electrician with Unidata Group (UK) Limited, contributing to significant projects across various high-profile sites. They also served as the High Voltage Network Coordinator at QGC, developing policies and coordinating field operations for high voltage systems. Matthew completed high school at Longreach State High School.
