Michael Downes

Michael Downes has extensive experience in the chemical industry, currently serving as a Senior Sales Executive for Shell since September 2013, where responsibilities include managing a portfolio of approximately 1 million metric tonnes per annum in Propylene sales and purchases across Europe. Prior roles at Shell include European Sales Manager for Sulphur, overseeing the management of over 15 direct and indirect customers and driving business strategy and growth projects, as well as serving as a Global Marketing and Pricing Analyst, focusing on long-term market forecasts and customer profitability. Before joining Shell, Michael completed an industrial placement at Barclays Corporate and served as Treasurer for the University of Bath American Football Club. Michael holds a BSc in Economics and International Development from the University of Bath, which was attended from 2009 to 2013, and is a graduate of Churcher's College, where education was completed from 2002 to 2009.
