Michael McDermott

Michael McDermott is a Principal Assurance professional at Shell with extensive experience spanning over two decades in Project Controls, Commercial Engineering, Change Management, Planning/Scheduling, Cost Engineering, and Claim development/evaluation. Previously, they held various roles at KBR and MW Kellogg, contributing to multi-billion dollar projects in offshore deepwater developments and downstream facilities across regions including Southeast Asia, South America, and West Africa. McDermott has worked closely with host government oil companies under Production Sharing Agreements and has contributed significantly to projects such as the BC10 and Libra developments in Brazil. They hold a Master’s degree in Project Management and Engineering from Texas A&M University and continue their education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
