Roald Rijnbeek is currently the General Manager for Development & Subsurface at Shell in Malaysia, where they lead a team of over 160 professionals to enhance oil and gas field performance and spearhead new upstream opportunities. Previously, Roald held various leadership roles including Front End Development Manager at Sarawak Shell Berhad, where they managed the technical development of gas fields, and HSSE Manager for Norway Projects, overseeing health, safety, security, and environmental performance across Shell's projects in Norway. With a background in project management and sustainable development, Roald has driven significant cost and schedule improvements in multiple high-value projects throughout their career. Roald earned a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Economics & Environmental Management from the University of York in 1998.
