Roelof Botes

Roelof Botes is a globally experienced Turnaround and Maintenance Executive with over 28 years of leadership in the refining, petrochemical, and LNG sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Turnaround Controls Lead at Shell, Roelof drives strategic planning and execution of major turnaround events. They began their career at Sasol Synfuels, contributing to numerous turnaround events, and held pivotal roles at ORYX GTL and NCOC. Recognized for aligning cross-functional teams and embedding performance-driven cultures, Roelof has significantly enhanced asset integrity and safety across Shell’s global operations. Roelof earned a B-Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vaal University of Technology.
