Simon Gough

Simon Gough is an accomplished Exploration Growth Team Lead at Shell, with extensive experience in exploration and geology spanning from September 2004 to the present. In this current role, Simon oversees Exploration Growth in Brunei. Prior positions include Exploration Capability Coach and Exploration Team Lead/Opportunity ID Manager for the Russia Exploration Team in Moscow, where responsibilities encompassed Exploration New Ventures and governance for significant Joint Ventures. Additionally, Simon served as a (Senior) Exploration Geologist and Project Lead in Kuala Lumpur, focusing on exploration in Sarawak, and as an Exploration Geologist for the Gabon and Cameroon Exploration Team based in the Netherlands. Before joining Shell, Simon completed a PhD at Oxford University, specializing in metamorphic and structural geology with a research focus on Pakistan Himalayan tectonics.
