Tashi Erdmann leads the Data Science Capability Centre for Shell Energy, overseeing a team focused on applying machine learning and quantitative engineering to energy trading. Previously, Tashi served as the data science team lead for commercial insights and HR Analytics manager at Shell, and Tashi has held various roles, including statistical consultant and econometric advisor within the company. Tashi's earlier career includes being a senior consultant and trainer at IBIS UvA, where they conducted scientific research in Measurement System Analysis. Tashi earned a cum laude Bachelor of Science in Econometrics and Operations Research, a Master's in Financial Econometrics, and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Amsterdam. In addition to professional pursuits, Tashi enjoys music, cinema, and travel, having lived in Bangkok, where they taught mathematics at an international school.
