Thijs Van Iersel

Thijs Van Iersel is currently a Master of Science student in Naval Science and Operational Studies at TU Delft and is serving as a Graduate Intern at Shell, where they are researching the structural integrity of steel structures in the splash zone. Thijs previously held roles as an Assistant R&D Engineer at Allseas, focusing on weather systems, and as a Research Intern at Royal Huisman, where they investigated corrosion in aluminum types. They also contributed as a Student Mentor at TU Delft, supporting first-year students with their transition to university life. Thijs holds a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Technology from TU Delft and completed their International Baccalaureate with a focus on natural sciences and technology.
