Ulrich Hennings

Engineering Manager

Ulrich Hennings is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Engineering Manager at Shell since October 2006. In this role, Ulrich leads the design and construction of a Green Hydrogen Plant utilizing Electrolyzer Technology and Wind Power. Previous positions at Shell include Senior Concept Engineer, where support for Front-End Concept Engineering and New Business Development in the Asia-Pacific region was provided, as well as Senior Technologist in the GTL Area and XTL Technologist focusing on process engineering and CO2 capture opportunities. Ulrich also held key roles at Sakhalin Energy, including Front End Development Manager and Head of Brownfield Engineering & Technical Integrator. Early in the career, Ulrich was a Scientific Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Karlsruhe, conducting research on Hydrogen Production and earning a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Ulrich's education includes a Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's degree from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
