Wences Gouveia is the Chief Geophysicist and Regional Discipline Lead at Shell, where they have been accountable for development geophysical activities in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil since 2016. Previously, Wences served as a Lead Appraisal Geophysicist for Shell's pre-salt assets in Brazil and has extensive experience as a Geophysicist at ExxonMobil and Mobil Oil. Wences earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geophysics and Seismology from the Colorado School of Mines in 1997.
