Will Smith was born on September 25, 1985, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Will grew up in the city with their parents and two sisters. Will's father, William Smith Sr., was a refrigeration engineer, and their mother, Caroline Smith, was a schoolteacher.

After graduating from high school in 2003, Will attended the nearby Community College of Philadelphia for two years. Will then transferred to West Chester University, where they studied communications.

Will joined the United States Marine Corps in 2007 and served as a radio supervisor for three years. Will was then stationed at the Marine Corps Communications & Electronics School (MCCES) for one year as a communication supervisor.

In 2013, Will left the Marines and began working as a communication security supervisor at The Basic School. Will held this position for four years before taking a job as a battalion operations supervisor with Combat Assaut Battalion.

In 2018, Will transitioned to the civilian workforce and began working as a naval C4I systems analyst for LTC Solutions, L.L.C. Will left this position after six months to take a job as a testing & evaluation engineer III with the same company.

Will left LTC Solutions in 2019 and began working as a tactical communicator for Oak Grove Technologies. Will held this position for eight months before taking their current role as project coordinator at Sherpa 6.

Will Smith has a B.A. in Government Contracting and Acquisitions from American Military University, a Certificate in Testing & Evaluation from Defense Acquisition University, and an Apprenticeship Credential in 0952N - Radio Station Operator (Aircraft Mfg) from the United Services Military Apprenticeship Program. Will also has a credential as an Associate Electronics Technician (CETa) from the Marine Corps COOL Credentialing Opportunities On-Line, and a High School Diploma from Riverview Senior High School.

Will Smith reports to John Faatz, Project Manager. Some of their coworkers include Zack Breckenridge - Project Coordinator, Gabe Arce - Project Controller, and Justin Sweet - Project Coordinator.
