Ryan Nichols

Ryan Nichols is a seasoned engineering manager with extensive experience in mechanical design and integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Currently serving as the Manager of Mechanical Engineering at Shield AI since July 2021, Ryan continues to lead technical efforts on the V-BAT platform following the acquisition of Martin UAV. Prior to this, Ryan held the role of Manager of Mechanical Engineering at Martin UAV, where notable accomplishments included overseeing airframe design and cross-project engineering management. Previous experience includes a position at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, focusing on the mechanical redesign of a critical system for a naval platform. Ryan holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
