VP, Engineering at SHIELD

Deepak Kumar is currently the VP of Engineering at SHIELD, a position they have held for the last three years. Deepak has also been a Lead Software Engineer and a VP of Engineering at their previous company, Works Applications Co., Ltd. For six years and nine months, they were responsible for taking decisions to improve the team productivity and product quality, as well as designing microservices and developing RESTful APIs. Deepak also did code review for team members and was responsible for creating architecture and deciding on the best suited technology for required features. In their role as Software Engineer Manager, they led a development team of Content Management System (CMS) and was responsible for gathering requirements and designing and developing new features in CMS based on requirement. Deepak also suggested changes to the manager to improve the existing system, such as redesigning the architecture of CMS to double the rendering speed of pages. Deepak also designed and developed a new responsive editor to create pages in CMS, which improved the performance of web applications. In addition, they increased the throughput of the application by improving existing features and fixing bugs.

Deepak Kumar has a Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) from the University of Hyderabad and a B.Sc in Computer Application from Patna Science College. Deepak was the winner of the MCA Quiz Competition for the year 2009-2010 and the winner of the MCA Quiz Competition for the year 2008-2009. Deepak developed a Video Game application as part of the Code JavaFX Contest for Sun Microsystems.
