Claudio Argento

CTO at Shifamed

Claudio has over 20 years of experience in Research & Development in the medical device industry. Prior to joining Shifamed, Claudio was Senior Director of R&D at PowerVision Lens, where he led the development of an accommodating intraocular lens. Prior to that, Claudio was VP of R&D of BioVentrix, where he led the development of an implantable treatment for congestive heart failure. Claudio was the Director of R&D of Sadra Medical, where he developed a transcatheter aortic valve, which was acquired by Boston Scientific for $450 million in January 2011. Claudio is an inventor/co-inventor of 21 US/OUS-issued patents. Claudio holds a B.S. from Rio de Janeiro Brazil, a Masters of Science from Institute National Polytechnique Grenoble France, and a Ph.D. from Universite Joseph Fourier Grenoble France, all in Mechanical Engineering.
