Michael Bloom

Michael Bloom has a diverse work experience in the financial and technology industry. Michael started their career at DRW Trading Group in 2004, where they held various key roles including Position Manager, Natural Gas Derivatives Trader/Market Maker, and Manager of New Hires. During their time at DRW, they also served as a Member of the NYMEX Settlement Committee, responsible for all Nymex/CME Natural Gas option settlements. In 2012, Michael joined Velocity Merchant Energy, LP as a Natural Gas Derivatives Trader and Position Manager, contributing to the company's growth and reputation. Michael then worked at OTC Global Holdings from 2013 to 2017 as a Natural Gas Advisor and Broker, employing their trading background to provide personalized and specialized brokering services. In 2018, Michael pursued a career in Python development and data analysis, attending Byte Academy's intensive full-stack software engineering bootcamp. Following that, they joined Shift Markets as a Lead Data Analyst/Engineer and Python Developer, utilizing their proficiency in Python, SQL, and various libraries to offer turn-key solutions for crypto currency/fx exchange and brokerage. Overall, Michael Bloom possesses a strong background in trading, financial markets, and software development, with expertise in Python, SQL, Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter Notebook, and Flask/API development.

Michael Bloom attended the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a BS degree in Finance. Michael also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Finance, General from the University of Maryland during the same time period. In 2013, Michael obtained the Series 3 certification.
