Tom Mealey

Tom Mealey is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in embedded software, firmware development, and project leadership. Currently serving as Manager of Intake Engineering at Shift5 since September 2023, Tom leads the embedded software and firmware team focused on the Intake layer of the technology stack. Prior to this role, Tom worked as a Staff Firmware Engineer at Shift5, where the development of FPGA firmware and embedded software for analyzing serial communications bus data was a key responsibility. Tom's experience also includes a Senior Application Engineer position at MathWorks, specializing in FPGA-SoC projects across various applications, and a Technical Lead role at the Air Force Research Laboratory, overseeing a portfolio of projects to enhance sensing technology. Tom's early career involved work as a Computer Engineer at Emu Technology, contributing to the development of high-performance computer architectures. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton.
