Ira Weiss

Ira Weiss is a General Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners, an early stage venture fund focused on software startups in the Midwest, and has held this position since December 2011. Weiss is also a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and Accounting at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where teaching emphasizes venture capital investing and entrepreneurship. In July 2024, Weiss became Vice Chairman of the Illinois Venture Capital Association, advocating for policies that promote economic development in Illinois. Additional roles include serving as an investor and board observer for multiple companies, such as Slip Robotics and HData, and holding board positions for organizations like Secure Illinois Retirements and Audit Sight Inc. Weiss holds an MBA and a PhD in Accounting and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
