Peter Maher

Peter Maher is a Partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP, where involvement in the School Law Practice Group has been prominent since September 2013. From December 2014 to January 2020, Peter served as an Adjunct Professor at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. Prior experience includes a Judicial Law Clerk position for the Hon. Thomas I. Vanaskie at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, as well as multiple summer internships focused on Special Education and Education Law at King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, LLC, and an internship at the Center for Children's Advocacy. Prior to a legal career, Peter worked in special education, serving as a Lead Teacher and Teacher Associate at the Centennial School of Lehigh University. Peter holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, a Master of Education in Special Education from Lehigh University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lehigh University.
