Ben Tea

Ben Tea has a diverse range of work experience in software engineering. Ben started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Kiran Analytics, where they prototyped a break rules visualizer and implemented push notifications for Cloud Cords Connect. Ben then worked as a Methods Student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where they utilized machine learning techniques to classify sea floor data and processed satellite radar data for earthquake analysis.

In 2018, Ben joined ServiceNow as a Software Engineering Intern, where they developed accessible themes for the Service Portal using SCSS. Ben also gained experience in rapid design iteration and communication using ServiceNow iron dome instances.

Following this, Ben worked at Moebius Solutions, Inc. as a Software Engineer, focusing on full-stack web development with React and Java 8. Ben used various frameworks and technologies such as Redux, RxJS, Ramda, and Spring Boot for backend development.

Currently, Ben is working at Shippabo as a Staff Software Engineer. Ben has held various roles within the company, including Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. Ben has contributed to the development of a shipment queue system and created a virtualized React component to improve data entry efficiency.

Ben Tea attended UC San Diego from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics-Computer Science. In addition to their degree, they pursued a minor in Management Science at UC San Diego. Ben Tea also obtained several certifications including the Triplebyte Frontend Certificate from Triplebyte in August 2020, the Linux+ certification from CompTIA in December 2018, the LPIC-1 certification from the Linux Professional Institute in December 2018, and the Security+ certification from CompTIA in October 2018.
