Andy Zhang is an experienced technology leader currently serving as Director at Shopee since March 2021, overseeing the Search, Recommendation, and Ads divisions, as well as the Machine Learning Platform. Prior to this role, Andy held positions at BIGO as a Senior Manager and Principal Engineer from February 2017 to March 2021, where responsibilities included developing the recommendation system and leading a team of over 40 engineers. Earlier experience includes co-founding Youbandao (Beijing) Information Technology Co., Ltd. as COO, where Andy contributed to the development of a popular news platform in the Philippines, and serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Baidu from March 2013 to April 2016, focusing on the Baidu App Engine 3.0. Andy holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Beihang University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Central University of Finance and Economics.
