Aylin Ünal

Aylin Ünal has a diverse work experience, beginning with a student internship at the German Council on Foreign Relations in 2009. In 2008, they completed a professional training as a video journalist at ems - electronic media school gGmbH. In 2011, they were a Public Affairs Consultant at dicomm advisors GmbH and in 2012 they were an Editor of Internet Policy at Berliner Informationsdienst/polisphere e.V. In 2013, they were a Senior Editor of Digitalization at Verlag Der Tagesspiegel GmbH and in 2014 they were a Consultant for Platform Regulation and Public Relations at Die Medienanstalten. In 2020, they took a sabbatical and began a career change to web development. In 2021, they were a Frontend Web Developer at ]init[ - Services for the eSociety and a Freelance Web Developer at Certification-Questions. Her roles included migrating websites from WordPress to Hugo with AWS S3 hosting and TailwindCSS, working remotely with an international cross-functional team, providing regular feedback to the client, implementing responsive web design, and building multi-language and SEO-friendly websites. Aylin is currently a React Developer at Shopgate since 2022.

Aylin Ünal has a diverse educational background. In 2021, they completed a 9-Week Web Development Bootcamp at Ironhack and a Full-stack web development degree in Computer Science. In 2017, they obtained a Project Management certification from the IFM Institut für Managementberatung GmbH. From 2009 to 2012, they earned a Master of Arts in Sociology and European Societies from Freie Universität Berlin. From 2005 to 2009, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In 2007, they studied Small States in Europe; British History and Culture; Ethics of Nature; and Icelandic Society at Háskóli Íslands.
