Afaq Virk

Afaq Virk is a motivated individual currently serving as a Dev Degree Intern at Shopify since August 2024 and has been the Business Owner, Founder, and Tutor at MathemaTech Tutoring and Computer Support since May 2021, leveraging a $3000 grant from the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development to launch a business focused on personalized online support during the pandemic. Afaq also served as a Student Trustee for the Upper Canada District School Board from August 2023 to July 2024, representing over 27,000 students and chairing the Student Senate to address issues such as STEM education and mental health supports. Additionally, Afaq held the position of Vice President - Events at OSTA-AECO during the same period. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Carleton University, Afaq's educational journey began at Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School, where studies were completed in June 2024.
