Allison Bent

Allison Bent is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in talent support operations and human resources within the arts and technology sectors. Currently serving as the Lead of Talent Support Operations at Shopify since May 2021, Allison manages a team of HR Generalists, overseeing the employee life cycle for 8,000 individuals worldwide. Prior roles include Talent Systems Coordination Lead and Talent Systems Coordinator at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, along with positions at Against the Grain Theatre as the Manager of Volunteers and Personnel Administrator, where recruitment of volunteers and contracting of artists was facilitated. Additional experience includes roles as Artist Representative at Andrew Kwan Artists Management Inc. and Administrative Intern at the Canadian Opera Company, where support was provided for a major concert series. Allison holds multiple certificates, including in Psychology and Human Resources Management, along with a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Cleveland State University and the University of Toronto, respectively.
