Jon Burns is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector. Since July 2019, Jon has served as the Director of Engineering at Shopify, following a progression of roles including Senior Development Manager, Development Manager, and Staff Developer. Prior to Shopify, Jon worked at Google from January 2016 to July 2019 as a Technical Lead and Ads Solution Engineer. Jon also founded Kindness Connect, serving as Founder and CTO from 2012 to 2019, and previously established Sydev Solutions from 2010 to 2012. Early career experience includes a position as a Systems Developer at 180 Systems from 2008 to 2010. Jon holds a degree from the University of Waterloo, completed in 2009.
