Linjun Yang is currently serving as the VP of Applied ML at Shopify since December 2024. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Microsoft from July 2012 to December 2024, where Linjun held various leadership roles, including Vice President, Chief Architect for Core Search & AI, and Partner Applied Science Manager, overseeing teams focused on core search relevance, caption generation, personalization, and recommendations. Linjun also played a key role in the development of image understanding algorithms and technologies for Bing. Prior to Microsoft, positions included Senior Engineering Manager and Software Engineer at Facebook from October 2017 to March 2020, and Associate Researcher at Microsoft Research Asia from July 2006 to July 2012. Linjun Yang holds a Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology and a B.S. in Electronics & Information System from East China Normal University.
