Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson is the VP Legal and Corporate Secretary at Shopify, where they oversee corporate legal matters and legal operations. With over twenty years of experience in the legal field, they have developed expertise in corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, and SEC compliance. Previously, Mike served as Deputy General Counsel at Facebook, playing a pivotal role in strategic transactions such as the acquisitions of WhatsApp and Instagram. They have also held senior positions at Juniper Networks and NetScreen Technologies, and began their legal career as an associate at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. Mike holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
