Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and mobile development. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering and Head of Mobile at Shopify since May 2017, Mustafa leads a diverse team of 80 engineers across multiple countries to create effective mobile tools for merchants. Previously, Mustafa held various pivotal roles at Shopify, including Head of Mobile Engineering and Senior Engineering Manager, where responsibilities included managing critical features for Shopify Point of Sale and launching payment terminals in multiple regions. Prior to Shopify, Mustafa was the Director of Engineering at Mutual Mobile, overseeing a team that developed products for major brands such as Nike and Google. An active member of the Kotlin Foundation since April 2023, Mustafa is also experienced in public relations and holds a Master of Science degree from the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad.
