Phil Whitham

Phil Whitham has extensive experience in finance and accounting, beginning as a Manager at KPMG Canada from January 2010 to November 2013, where responsibilities included planning and conducting financial statement audits, evaluating internal controls, and interacting with a diverse client base. Phil further advanced to serve as Treasurer for the Ottawa District Women's Hockey Association from May 2012 to September 2013, managing a budget exceeding $490,000 and preparing financial statements in line with Canadian accounting standards. After roles as Controller and CFO at Prime Choice, Phil joined Shopify, initially as Assistant Controller in January 2018, and then as International Controller from January 2019 to the present. Phil holds a CPA, CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Business with a specialization in Accounting from Acadia University.
