Joydeep Ghosh

Joydeep Ghosh is a Full Professor and Schlumberger Centennial Chair at The University of Texas at Austin, where they have faculty appointments in several departments. Joydeep has extensive experience in data mining and machine learning, with over 500 publications and projects, including 16 best paper awards. Joydeep has also chaired data mining and machine learning conferences and advised various companies, from startups to Fortune 100 corporations.

In 2021, Ghosh became the Chief Technical Advisor for Data Science, ML & AI at ShortTok, a company that provides automated storytelling technologies for media and content companies.

Joydeep is a member of the Governing Board at the Responsible AI Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to building governance tools for trustworthy and fair AI systems.

Ghosh joined CognitiveScale as an Advisory Board Member in 2014 and later became the Chief Scientific Officer in 2017. Under their leadership, CognitiveScale was recognized as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

Joydeep also served as a Member of the Advisory Board at OJO Labs, providing technical and strategic guidance to the company. During their tenure, OJO Labs experienced significant growth and was ranked among the fastest-growing companies in the USA.

Additionally, Ghosh was an Advisory Board Member at Accordion Health, a healthcare solutions company that was acquired by a publicly listed healthcare company in 2017.

Joydeep Ghosh completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, from 1978 to 1983. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California from 1983 to 1988.
