The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) was founded in 1974 in Los Angeles, California, to empower Hispanic engineers to serve as role models and leaders in their communities. Built on the power of networking, SHPE has grown into a national organization with a strong presence across the United States and internationally.

The SHPE Colorado Professional Chapter, founded in 1988, serves as a leading hub for professional development, mentorship, and community engagement within Colorado’s STEM ecosystem. For more than three decades, our chapter has connected professionals, students, and corporate partners through leadership programming, industry tours, networking events, and community outreach initiatives that strengthen the pipeline of engineering and technology talent across the state.

To date, SHPE Colorado has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to more than 50 aspiring engineers and scientists in Colorado. Beyond financial support, we focus on building long term relationships that promote career advancement, technical excellence, and meaningful representation in STEM fields.

Our chapter works closely with local universities, student chapters, and corporate sponsors to create opportunities that empower the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential while contributing to the growth of Colorado’s engineering and technology workforce.

SHPE Colorado welcomes professionals, students, sponsors, and community allies who are committed to leadership, service, and impact.
