John Nelson

John Nelson is an attorney and partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, where they focus on civil litigation in federal and state courts. Since 2014, John has represented corporate and individual clients in matters involving insurance coverage disputes, tort claims, and contractual indemnity disputes. Prior to this, John worked as a shareholder at Cooper & Kowalski LPA from 1981 to 2014. They earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Miami University in 1976 and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1979. John also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Don J. Young in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio from 1979 to 1981.
