At Shut It Down we are teachers first. We know the realities of classrooms and corridors and we understand how challenging it can feel to respond when harmful behaviour appears. That is why our work is rooted in practice and shaped by lived experience. We speak the same language as staff because we understand the challenges.

We equip teachers and school leaders with tangible tools they can use straight away. From practical scripts and de-escalation strategies, to clear reflection prompts and shared language, we help take the guesswork out of responding to misogyny, harassment and harmful behaviour. Our goal is to make staff feel confident and supported so that every response is consistent, fair and constructive.

Our work goes beyond individual training sessions. We support schools with policy development, safeguarding alignment and long term cultural change. By embedding systems and creating ongoing opportunities for reflection, we ensure that positive change is not a one off event but part of the everyday life of a school.

We also work directly with students. Through workshops and guided conversations we create safe spaces to talk honestly about consent, boundaries, respect and positive masculinity. These conversations are not always easy, but they are vital. When students are given the language and tools to reflect on their behaviour, they begin to shape healthier attitudes and safer communities.

Ultimately we exist to help both staff and students feel safer and more empowered. We believe schools can be places where respect and accountability are lived values rather than aspirational words. Shut It Down partners with schools to move from zero tolerance policies to meaningful cultural change.
