Dennis Jen

Dennis Jen has over two decades of experience in data engineering and software development, currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Shutterfly, Inc. since December 2004. In this role, Dennis acts as a technology evangelist focusing on next-generation data engineering, cloud integration, and distributed computing, utilizing tools such as AWS, EMR, and Spark. Previously, Dennis held leadership positions including Director, Architect for Data Warehouse, where the development of a SOX compliant financial reporting platform was a key achievement. Earlier roles at Shutterfly involved architecting enterprise-scale applications, with proficiencies in various programming languages including Python and SQL. Prior to Shutterfly, Dennis worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Lycos, contributing to Internet Marketing data warehouse solutions. Dennis holds a BA in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
