Patrick Nicholson

Patrick Nicholson is an experienced software engineer and data scientist specializing in natural language processing (NLP) and data analytics. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Shutterstock since October 2020, Patrick has developed and maintained significant data pipelines and led successful experiments for search services. Previously, as a Senior Data Scientist at Shutterstock, Patrick spearheaded NLP and taxonomy initiatives and built scalable production pipelines for processing linked data. Prior to that, Patrick worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Nokia Bell Labs, focusing on NLP and machine learning solutions. Patrick holds a PhD in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, and initially studied Computer Science at Dalhousie University.
