Long Zhang

Long Zhang is a highly experienced chemist currently serving as the Lead Synthetic Chemist at SI Group since August 2023. Prior to this role, Long Zhang was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Northwestern University from July 2017 to July 2023, where significant contributions included the design and synthesis of the first catenane-based electric molecular motor, resulting in publications in prestigious journals such as Nature. Long Zhang's research also encompassed the development of organic molecular macrocycles and noble metal recovery methods, with a total of over 30 peer-reviewed publications, including two in Nature and one in Science. Earlier experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Fudan University featured advancements in organometallic and coordination compounds, along with extensive mentorship of students and collaborative efforts in laboratory management. Long Zhang holds a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from Fudan University and completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Bioinformatics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
