Jakob Granit

Jakob Granit is an experienced professional in the fields of water management and environmental governance, holding significant positions across various organizations. Granit served as Director General at Havs- och vattenmyndigheten from September 2016 to September 2023 and as Director Knowledge Services at the Stockholm International Water Institute from 2007 to July 2012. Other notable roles include Vice Chair of the Swedish National Committee for Global Environmental Change and Chair of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources from November 2020 to November 2022. Granit has contributed as a member of the delegation for The Baltic Sea Fund and has held advisory roles with the Global Environment Facility. Granit’s academic background includes a PhD in Geography from Stockholm University, completing studies between 1988 and 1992.
