Jakob Wernerman

Jakob Wernerman is currently the Assistant Director General and Head of the Department for Humanitarian Operations at Sida, overseeing planning and implementation of humanitarian aid strategies. With extensive experience in strategic leadership, operational management, and disaster risk reduction, they have held various significant roles within the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the United Nations OCHA. Jakob previously served as a Regional Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist at UNICEF, managing programs aimed at enhancing resilience in West and Central Africa. They hold a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Malmö University.
