Mai Ao is a Senior Technical Lead of SideFX Labs at SideFX Software, where responsibilities include leadership roles and contributions as a Houdini Technical Artist since February 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Technical Artist and Game Engineer at Schell Games from October 2018 to February 2021, and roles as a Production Designer and 3D Artist at Lafayette College in early 2015, along with participation in the EXCEL Research Scholar program at the same institution in mid-2013. Mai Ao holds a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University (2016-2018) and a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Computer Science and Art from Lafayette College (2012-2016). Additional academic experience includes a study abroad programme at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2013, focusing on Computer Graphics and Computer Science.
