Michael Sarafolean

Michael Sarafolean, MST, CPA, is a seasoned tax professional currently serving as the Director of Taxation at Sierra Nevada Corporation since October 2018. In this role, Michael oversees direct tax compliance, including federal S-corp returns and multiple state tax filings, while supporting the Vice President of Tax with extensive transactional research. Prior experience includes leadership roles at CLA, Grant Thornton LLP, Smith Schafer & Associates, and Wilkerson Guthmann, managing diverse client portfolios with complex multi-state and multi-national tax projects. Michael began his career at Cargill and further honed skills as a Senior Tax Accountant for E. & J. Gallo Winery, handling significant tax liabilities and compliance filings. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Taxation and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
