Alex Downs

Alex Downs serves as the Chief Systems Engineer at Sierra Space, overseeing the engineering processes for a classified multi-spacecraft program and leading a multidisciplinary team to define and execute system architecture from design to launch. Prior to this role, Alex worked as a Mission Systems Engineer at Sierra Nevada Corporation, focusing on space vehicle mission analyses and proposal efforts. Alex's extensive experience includes a significant tenure at Lockheed Martin, where roles ranged from Senior System Engineer managing optomechanical systems to Systems Engineer handling missile component testing. Alex holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and an MBA from the University of Central Florida, along with completion of the Engineering Leadership Development Program at Lockheed Martin.
