Jack Plank

Mechanical Engineer

Jack Plank is a Mechanical Engineer at Sierra Space since July 2021, building a solid foundation in aerospace engineering through various roles. While serving as a Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University from August 2019 to May 2021, Jack focused on Nuclear Thermal Propulsion and conducted research on thermal transients post-burn, gaining expertise in computational fluid dynamics. As Sub-Team Leader of The Buckeye Space Launch Initiative from August 2017 to May 2021, Jack led efforts to design and test sounding rockets for competition. A Thermal Analysis Intern at Dynetics, Inc. in summer 2020, Jack contributed to the Thermal Control System of the Human Landing System project aimed at lunar exploration. Jack's academic background includes a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from The Ohio State University.
